The Albuquerque Public Library provides kids a very special opportunity: read a book out loud to a dog.
Registered therapy dogs curl up and listen patiently as kids read stories to them. This gives kids a chance to gain confidence in their reading skills in a relaxed and calm atmosphere.
Four therapy dog organizations participate in this program. Handlers bring their registered pet therapy dogs and sit with them as each child get a turn.
